Solid for quick tutorials

Camtasia’s pretty solid for screen recording and editing, especially when I need to whip up quick tutorials. The editing interface feels straightforward without being too basic, though sometimes it lags a bit on bigger projects. Overall, it gets the job done without making me wanna pull my hair out.

Great for team video projects

Our team of eight started using Camtasia to streamline how we create training videos, and it’s been a smooth transition overall. Getting everyone on board took a bit of time since some were used to different tools, but once they saw how easy it is to edit and share clips, adoption quickened. Collaboration has definitely improved, especially with the ability to comment directly on projects.

Good value for creators

Camtasia is a bit pricey upfront, but for the kind of videos I need to produce, it's saved me tons of time and hassle—definitely worth the investment in my book.

Smooth setup, easy onboarding

Getting started with Camtasia was surprisingly smooth. The installation didn’t take long at all—about 10 minutes—and the onboarding tutorials helped me find my way around without feeling overwhelmed. There was a bit of a learning curve when it came to some of the more advanced editing features, but the basic setup made it easy to jump right in. Overall, it felt like a solid balance between simplicity and depth.

Easy and effective editing

Camtasia’s actually pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. I like how you can quickly edit clips and add effects without fussing too much. Wish the export times were a bit faster, but overall it’s solid for screen recording stuff.

Cut editing time drastically

I was struggling to create clear tutorial videos for my team without spending hours editing clips and syncing audio. Camtasia made it way easier to cut down my editing time by letting me record and edit all in one place, plus the screen annotations helped highlight exactly what I wanted. It’s not perfect — sometimes the export takes longer than expected — but it solved my main headache.

Good recording, clunky editing

The screen recording feature captures everything smoothly and is really straightforward to use. However, I found the video editing tools a bit clunky and not as intuitive as I'd hoped, which slowed me down more than expected.

Good for editing, a bit pricey

I gave Camtasia a shot after trying OBS Studio and ScreenFlow, mostly because it seemed more user-friendly for quick edits. It definitely nails the basics with an intuitive timeline and decent annotation tools, but I found it a bit sluggish when handling longer videos compared to ScreenFlow. OBS had better recording flexibility and was free, but Camtasia’s built-in editing features made it easier to polish my footage without jumping between apps. That said, the price felt steep given some stability issues I ran into, so I’m still on the fence about fully committing.

Simple and effective video tool

Camtasia's been a solid find for quick video projects. I like how easy it is to throw together screen recordings and do some basic edits without digging through complicated menus. The export options are pretty flexible too, which saves me time. Only thing I wish was better is the price, kinda steep if you only need it occasionally.

Great for Team Tutorials

Our team of eight started using Camtasia mainly for training videos, and once everyone got the hang of it, collaboration got a lot smoother. The boss pushed for it, and now it's the go-to tool for sharing quick tutorials across departments.
