Not worth the hassle
I gave OpenCart a try after hearing good things, but honestly, it was a frustrating experience. I had previously used Shopify and WooCommerce, and both felt way more intuitive when setting up products and managing orders. OpenCart's interface felt clunky, and I ran into several bugs that made customizing the store a nightmare without hiring a developer. If you're not very tech-savvy, platforms like Shopify might save you a lot of headache with their smoother user experience and better support.

Great extensions, okay reports
The extension system is exactly what we needed to customize our store without much hassle. The reporting dashboard is useful, but it could be more intuitive and detailed for tracking sales trends.

Smooth and straightforward setup
Getting OpenCart up and running was surprisingly smooth—I had the basics set within a couple of hours thanks to clear onboarding steps. There was a bit of a learning curve with some of the more advanced settings, but nothing too overwhelming.

Solid choice for customization
I gave OpenCart a shot after trying Shopify and WooCommerce, and it felt like a nice balance between customization and ease of use. Shopify was great but a bit pricey for my needs, while WooCommerce needed too much tweaking to get going. OpenCart won me over with its straightforward setup and solid extension marketplace, though the interface feels a bit dated compared to the others.

Setup was a bit rough
Getting OpenCart up and running was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The hosting setup and initial installation didn't take too long, maybe around an hour, which was fine. But figuring out the backend took some digging since the interface isn’t the most intuitive, and I found myself googling more than I expected. Definitely not the smoothest onboarding experience, but once I got past the learning curve, things started clicking.

Smooth setup with minor hiccups
Getting OpenCart up and running was smoother than I expected. The installation process took about an hour, but the documentation and onboarding guides really helped clarify each step. There was a bit of a learning curve navigating the admin panel at first, but once I got the hang of it, managing products and settings felt straightforward. Overall, I was impressed with how quickly I could have a basic store live without much hassle.

Great SEO and multi-store features
The built-in SEO features in OpenCart really helped improve my store's visibility without needing to dive into complicated plugins. I also found the multi-store management to be surprisingly straightforward, which made handling different product lines much easier. That said, the default theme customization options could use some work to feel less basic, but overall, it's a solid platform for growing an online shop.
