Smooth and straightforward setup
Getting started with GitHub was surprisingly smooth. The onboarding guides helped me understand basic concepts quickly, and I had my first repo up and running in less than 15 minutes. There was a small hiccup with setting up SSH keys, but overall the learning curve wasn’t too steep. Definitely saved me a lot of time compared to other version control tools I tried before.

Saved Us From Version Chaos
My team was drowning in managing different versions of our code, especially when multiple people were working on the same files. GitHub made it so much easier to track changes and merge updates without losing anything. The pull request system helped us review code before it went live, which caught a lot of errors early. It’s not perfect—sometimes merge conflicts can be a headache—but overall it solved a major workflow mess for us.

Solid choice for collaboration
Switched from Bitbucket and also gave GitLab a try, but GitHub just felt smoother for collaboration, especially with its integration options and vast community. The interface is clean without being overwhelming, which helped our team get up to speed quickly. While GitLab’s built-in CI/CD features are impressive, I found GitHub Actions more flexible once I got the hang of it. Overall, GitHub’s ecosystem and third-party app support made it the best fit for our workflow.

Great PR system, busy notifications
The pull request system really helps keep code review organized and clear, but sometimes the notifications can be overwhelming. Still, the integration with issue tracking makes collaboration much smoother.

Good PR reviews but noisy notifications
The pull request review system on GitHub is honestly really helpful for keeping track of changes and getting feedback from teammates. I also like how easy it is to link issues directly in commits. That said, the notifications can get overwhelming and sometimes important comments get buried in the noise, which is frustrating when you're juggling multiple projects. Overall, it’s useful but could use a bit more fine-tuning on alerts.

Best for collaboration and support
Tried GitLab and Bitbucket before settling on GitHub for my projects. While GitLab has great CI/CD features, I found GitHub's interface more intuitive and the community support unparalleled. It’s been reliable for collaboration, though sometimes the pricing for private repos feels a bit steep.

Our team was drowning in version conflicts until we started using GitHub's pull request system. It made reviewing and merging code so much smoother, especially when coordinating multiple contributors on the same project.

Good value for teams
For what I get, GitHub’s pricing feels fair—especially since it saves me so much time collaborating and managing projects. Definitely worth the cost if you work with a team regularly.
