Great annotation and webcam features
The annotation tools in Screencastify are exactly what I needed for quick explanations during recordings—being able to draw and highlight on the screen makes a huge difference in clarity. The webcam overlay feature works great too, letting me add a personal touch without much hassle. That said, I wish the editing options were a bit more robust within the app itself, as trimming clips can feel a bit clunky. Overall, it’s a solid tool that gets the job done smoothly for basic screen recording and quick edits.

Useful but inconsistent adoption
Our team of about 10 started using Screencastify for quick walkthroughs and updates, but getting everyone to consistently use it was a bit of a struggle. Some people love how easy it is to record and share clips, while others found the editing features lacking and sometimes buggy. Overall, it’s helpful for simple tasks but doesn’t quite fit everyone’s workflow smoothly.

Easy and efficient screen recorder
Switched from Loom and OBS for recording quick tutorials and liked Screencastify because it’s super simple to use and the editing tools are right there without needing extra software. The only downside is occasional lag when recording longer videos.

Quick Setup, Slight Learning Curve
Getting started with Screencastify was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The initial extension installation was quick and straightforward, and I had it up and running in under 10 minutes, which was nice. However, figuring out some of the more advanced settings took a bit of digging, and the onboarding tutorials didn’t feel very thorough or intuitive. Overall, it wasn’t a total pain but definitely required some patience to get comfortable with all the features.

Easy bug reporting tool
I was struggling to quickly explain software bugs to my remote team, and Screencastify made it easy to record short clips with voiceover that got the point across instantly. It saved me so much time compared to typing out long emails or scheduling calls.

Decent but a bit clunky
Getting started with Screencastify was a bit of a mixed bag. The initial installation was straightforward and I had it running in about five minutes, but figuring out some of the settings took longer than I expected. The onboarding could be clearer to smooth out that little learning curve.

Useful but has drawbacks
Our team of about 10 started using Screencastify mainly for quick walkthroughs and feedback. Getting everyone on board was a bit of a challenge since some preferred written instructions, but it helped speed up collaboration once people got used to it. That said, the video editing features feel limited and sometimes it’s clunky to manage longer recordings.

Quick and easy setup
Getting Screencastify up and running was surprisingly quick. The onboarding guided me through the essentials without feeling overwhelming, and I had the extension installed and ready to record within minutes. The interface is straightforward enough that I didn’t need to spend much time figuring things out before making my first video. Overall, the learning curve was minimal, which is exactly what I wanted.

Made bug reporting easy
I was struggling to quickly explain software bugs to my team without long emails, and this tool made recording and sharing screen clips super easy. The ability to pause and annotate saved me tons of time, though sometimes the video quality dips a bit.

Simple screen recording fix
I needed a quick way to record short tutorials for my remote team, and Screencastify got the job done without any complicated setup. It made sharing step-by-step instructions way easier, especially since everyone could just watch the video instead of reading long emails. That said, the editing tools are pretty basic, and sometimes the recording lagged a bit on my older laptop.
