Simple, reliable screen recorder
I tried Loom and OBS Studio before settling on Screencastify, mainly because it felt way more intuitive for quick screen recordings without messing around with settings. Loom had nice features but sometimes lagged or limited video length, and OBS was too complicated for what I needed. Screencastify strikes a good balance with easy editing tools right after recording, which saved me a bunch of time. The only downside is occasional glitches when exporting larger videos, but overall it’s been solid for my day-to-day use.

Great for team communication
Our team of about 12 started using Screencastify to simplify how we share quick updates and walkthroughs. Getting everyone on board took a couple of weeks since some preferred emails, but once they saw how easy it was to record and share videos, adoption picked up fast. It’s helped a lot with collaboration, especially when explaining complex tasks without scheduling meetings constantly. The only downside is sometimes the video quality drops if your internet is shaky, but overall it’s made communication smoother.

Great webcam, weak editing
The webcam overlay is exactly what I needed for my tutorials, makes things way more personal. But the editing tools feel pretty limited and kinda clunky when trying to trim clips quickly.

Overpriced for casual use
The pricing feels a bit steep for what you actually get, especially if you don’t use it all the time. It’s fine for quick projects, but I’m not sure it’s the best bang for your buck in the long run.

Reliable and improving over time
Started using this about 3 years ago and it’s definitely gotten smoother and more reliable. Love how easy it is to share videos now, though sometimes the export can be a bit slow. Overall, it’s been a solid tool for recording quick tutorials and hasn’t let me down much.

Simple, effective screen recorder
I tried Loom and OBS Studio before settling on Screencastify, mainly because it strikes a good balance between ease of use and useful editing features. Loom felt too limited for my needs, especially when it came to trimming clips, and OBS was just way too complex for quick recordings. Screencastify’s browser extension makes starting a recording super fast, and I like that I can export videos directly to Google Drive without hassle. The only downside is occasionally slow uploads if your internet isn’t great, but overall it’s made my workflow smoother.

Reliable and Improving Tool
Started using this over three years ago, and it’s definitely gotten smoother and more reliable since then. The editing features have improved a lot, which makes polishing videos quicker, though I wish the free version had a bit more room for longer recordings. Overall, it’s been a solid tool that keeps getting better without becoming overwhelming.

Setup was okay, not smooth
Getting started was mostly straightforward, but a few steps in the setup felt a bit clunky and took longer than I expected. It wasn’t a total headache, but definitely not seamless either.

Used to be better
Started using this about three years ago and honestly, it’s gotten worse over time. Features that used to be free are now locked behind a paywall, and the interface feels clunkier with every update. I kept hoping for improvements, but it’s just become frustrating to use regularly.

Steady improvements over time
Started using this a couple years ago and it’s definitely improved since then. The interface is more user-friendly now and recording quality has gotten better, though sometimes it glitches when saving longer videos. Overall, it’s been reliable for my day-to-day work and easy to share with others.
