Useful but inconsistent adoption
Our team of about 12 started using Screencastify to share quick updates, but getting everyone to use it consistently was a bit of a challenge. It helps with collaboration sometimes, but some folks found it clunky, so it never fully caught on.

Easy screen recording solution
I was constantly struggling to quickly create tutorial videos for my remote team without complicated software. Screencastify made it super easy to just hit record and share the video link right away, which saved me loads of time. The ability to trim videos within the app was a lifesaver since I don’t have much editing experience. One thing I wish is that the audio syncing was a bit more reliable, but overall it solved my main headaches perfectly.

Great recording, weak editing
The screen recording feature works smoothly and the option to annotate during recording is really helpful for tutorials. However, I found the video editing tools to be pretty limited, which made polishing my recordings a bit frustrating.

Overpriced for features
The pricing feels way too high for what you actually get. I found myself looking for alternatives because the limited features on the cheaper plan just don't justify the cost.

Easy recording, weak editing
The browser extension makes recording super easy and quick, but the video editing tools feel pretty limited and clunky when trying to make minor tweaks.

Simple but a bit slow
Screencastify does the basics fine and is super easy to use, but sometimes the video quality isn’t great and exporting can be slow. Good for quick tutorials, but don’t expect fancy editing features.

Simple and reliable screen recording
Tried Loom and OBS Studio before settling on Screencastify because it’s way easier to use for quick recordings without messing with too many settings. The automatic Google Drive saves are a lifesaver, though it sometimes lags on longer videos.

Good recording, weak editing
The screen recording quality is solid and clear, which makes sharing tutorials easy. However, the editing tools feel pretty limited and clunky, which slows me down when I want to polish videos.

Good but a bit pricey
The free version is pretty limited, and the paid plans feel a bit steep if you only need basic features. It works fine for quick videos, but I’m not sure the cost really matches the value for casual use.

Great trimming and export tools
The video trimming feature in Screencastify is exactly what I needed to quickly cut out mistakes without re-recording the whole thing, which saves me a lot of time. Also, I really like how easy it is to export files directly to Google Drive, making sharing with my team super smooth. The only downside is that sometimes the webcam recording lags a bit, which can be annoying during longer sessions. Overall, it’s a solid tool that fits well into my workflow.
