Great for organized team chats
Switched from Microsoft Teams after finding its interface a bit clunky for quick chats. Slack’s channels and thread system make keeping conversations organized way easier, which really helps when juggling multiple projects. I also gave Discord a shot, but Slack just feels more professional and better suited for work without the gaming vibe.

Smooth team chats overall
Switched from Microsoft Teams after finding Slack's interface way less clunky and easier to jump between channels without getting lost. Tried Discord too, but Slack felt more professional and organized for work chats, even if the notification settings can be a bit confusing at times.

Great threading, notifications need work
The message threading really helps keep conversations organized, which is a lifesaver in busy channels. The notification system is good but could use more customization options to avoid overload.

Good value for teams
Slack’s pricing feels fair considering how much time it saves our team daily. It’s definitely an investment, but the improved communication has more than made up for the cost in my experience.

Good features, pricey plans
Slack offers a solid set of features, but the pricing feels a bit steep for smaller teams or freelancers. While the free tier covers basics well, the paid plans can add up quickly, and I’m not sure the extra perks always justify the cost. For bigger teams, it might be worth it, but I found it a bit hard to get a clear return on investment.

Search and Notifications Fail
The message search is awful—half the time I can’t find what I’m looking for even with exact keywords. Plus, notifications are inconsistent and often don’t show up until hours later, which messes with team communication.

Good but a bit cluttered
I tried Microsoft Teams and Discord before settling on Slack, mainly because the integrations feel more seamless here. That said, Slack gets pretty overwhelming with notifications and sometimes feels cluttered compared to the cleaner interface of Discord. Overall, it’s fine for work chats but not perfect.

Quick and straightforward setup
Getting Slack up and running was surprisingly quick, and the onboarding walkthrough helped me get the hang of it without feeling lost. Took maybe 20 minutes total from signup to having channels set up.

Hard to get everyone on board
Our team of about 15 struggled to get everyone using Slack consistently, and the constant notifications ended up being more distracting than helpful. It felt like a lot of effort for little improvement in actual collaboration.

Useful but not perfect
Our team of about 12 people started using Slack a few months ago after our manager pushed for it to replace email threads. Getting everyone on board was kinda rough since some folks still prefer old-school emails or just quick calls. Collaboration definitely improved in some ways, like faster responses in channels, but I find it easy to get distracted with all the notifications popping up. Overall, it’s helpful but not a game-changer for us yet.
