Search and Notifications Struggle
The message search feature in Slack is really frustrating—it's slow and often misses relevant results, which makes finding past conversations a headache. I do like the threaded conversations though; they help keep discussions organized and easier to follow. However, the notifications are overwhelming and hard to customize properly, so I often miss important messages or get bombarded with too many alerts. Overall, it feels like the app tries to do too much but struggles with some basics.

Great for team chats
Our team of about 15 started using Slack last year after our manager insisted on moving away from endless email threads. Getting everyone on board was smoother than expected since the interface is pretty intuitive, and now most conversations happen there, which really cuts down on miscommunication. I especially like how easy it is to create channels for different projects, so things stay organized. The only downside is that sometimes the notifications can get overwhelming if you’re not careful with settings.

Quick and Clear Setup
Getting Slack up and running was surprisingly smooth. The onboarding guided me through everything clearly, and I had it working with my team in under 30 minutes. There was a slight learning curve with some of the integrations, but overall, it was straightforward to pick up.

Great for team chats
Our team of about 15 switched to Slack last year, and it really helped keep conversations organized compared to endless email threads. Getting everyone on board took a couple of weeks, but once we did, collaboration became way smoother, especially with quick questions and file sharing.

Smooth and straightforward setup
Getting Slack up and running was surprisingly smooth. I had it set up and invited my team in under 30 minutes, which was great because nobody likes a complicated onboarding process. The interface is pretty intuitive, so the learning curve was minimal — my coworkers caught on quickly without much hand-holding. Overall, it felt like a solid balance between functionality and ease of use.

Quick Setup, Minor Learning Curve
Getting Slack up and running was surprisingly quick, took me maybe 10 minutes. The onboarding helped a lot, but some features took a bit to figure out on my own.

Best fit for team chats
I tried both Microsoft Teams and Discord before settling on Slack for our team's communication. Teams was a bit too clunky for quick chats, and Discord felt more geared towards gaming rather than professional use. Slack hits the right balance with its intuitive interface and easy-to-organize channels that keep conversations on point. It’s not perfect—sometimes the notification settings can get overwhelming—but overall, it just fits our workflow better than the alternatives.

Great channels, search needs work
The channel organization in Slack makes it super easy to keep conversations on topic, which really helps when juggling multiple projects. I also like the file sharing feature, though sometimes the search function doesn’t always pull up what I’m looking for right away.

Great for team chats
Slack’s been super handy for keeping all my work chats in one place. I like how easy it is to jump between group convos and DMs without losing track. Sometimes the notifications can get a bit overwhelming, but overall it’s saved me a lot of back-and-forth emails. Definitely makes remote work smoother.

Used to be great, now frustrating
Started using Slack about five years ago and honestly, it’s been a steady downhill slide. What was once a simple, reliable tool for team communication has turned into a bloated, glitchy mess with constant updates that seem to break more than they fix. Notifications are inconsistent, and the interface feels cluttered now, making it harder to find what you need quickly. After so long relying on it, I’m just frustrated with how it’s changed for the worse instead of improving.
