Great recording and editing tools
The screen recording feature in Camtasia is exactly what I needed for creating clear tutorial videos, and it’s really intuitive to use. I also appreciate the built-in video editing tools—they make trimming and adding callouts simple without jumping between different apps. That said, the audio editing could use a bit more finesse, as I sometimes struggle to get it just right without external software. Overall, it’s a solid tool that handles most tasks smoothly.

Clunky and overpriced for basics
I gave Camtasia a shot after trying out OBS Studio and ScreenFlow, hoping for something more user-friendly, but honestly, it felt clunky and overpriced for what it offers. The editing tools are pretty basic and sometimes lagged on my setup, which was frustrating during tight deadlines. OBS is free and way more customizable if you’re willing to learn it, and ScreenFlow felt smoother overall, especially for quick edits. I stuck with Camtasia initially because of its all-in-one approach, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you need something reliable and efficient.

Solid and easy to use
Camtasia is actually pretty solid for what I need—screen recording and quick edits without too much hassle. Sometimes it lags a bit when handling bigger files, but overall it's super easy to use and I like the built-in effects. Would definitely recommend if you don’t want to fuss with complicated software. Just wish exporting was a tad faster tho.

Worth the investment
Camtasia isn’t the cheapest tool out there, but in my experience, it definitely justifies the cost. For what you get—easy editing, solid screen capture, and reliable output—it’s been worth the investment, especially when I factor in the time saved on projects. If you’re working solo or in a small team, the one-time fee feels fair and the software has paid for itself through the quality and efficiency it adds to my videos.

Simple and effective tool
Camtasia’s been pretty solid for making quick tutorials. I like how easy it is to trim clips and add callouts, though sometimes the rendering takes longer than I’d like. Overall, saved me a bunch of headaches compared to other tools I've tried.

Frustrating to Use
The screen recording feature crashes constantly, making it nearly impossible to get a clean capture. I also found the video editing timeline confusing and clunky, which slowed down my workflow a lot.

Great for team training videos
Our team of about 12 started using Camtasia last year to create training videos and record presentations. Getting everyone on board took a couple of weeks since some preferred simpler tools, but once they saw how easy it was to edit and add annotations, adoption picked up quickly. It’s been great for collaboration because team members can share project files and leave notes on edits. The only drawback is that it can be a bit resource-heavy on older computers, which slowed down a few of us.

Makes video editing simple
I was constantly struggling to edit my tutorial videos quickly without losing quality, but Camtasia made trimming and adding callouts super straightforward, saving me a ton of time on each project.

Not worth the hassle
Honestly, kinda frustrating to use with all the glitches and lag. Expected better for the price but ended up switching after a week.

Solid editing, minor quirks
Tried OBS and ScreenFlow before settling on Camtasia because it's way easier to edit clips without juggling multiple apps. The interface feels a bit clunky sometimes but the built-in effects saved me a lot of time.
