Saved me editing headaches
I was struggling to create clean tutorial videos that showed exactly what I was doing on screen without a ton of editing headaches. Camtasia’s straightforward timeline and easy-to-use screen recording helped me capture everything smoothly and trim out mistakes quickly, saving me hours. It made putting together training videos way less stressful and much faster.

Great for team video projects
Our team of about 10 people started using Camtasia a few months ago for creating training videos and internal walkthroughs. Getting everyone comfortable with it took a bit of time since some folks were hesitant about learning new software, but once the basics clicked, collaboration became much smoother. We especially like how easy it is to share project files and get feedback directly within the platform, which has sped up the editing process. The only downside is that it can be a little resource-heavy on older laptops, which slowed a couple of team members down.

Used to be good
Started using this over 8 years ago and it just keeps getting slower and more buggy. Features that once worked fine now crash constantly, and support seems to have dropped the ball completely.

Reliable and improving steadily
Started using Camtasia about five years ago for creating training videos at work. Over time, it’s definitely gotten smoother and easier to navigate, especially the timeline and audio editing features. I appreciate how the updates haven’t complicated things but instead made the software more reliable and responsive. While I wish the export speed was a bit faster, overall it’s been a solid tool that’s only improved with each release.

Solid recording and editing
The screen recording feature in Camtasia is really smooth and captures everything clearly, which makes my tutorial videos look professional. I also like the timeline editing — it’s intuitive and lets me easily trim and rearrange clips without much hassle. However, the built-in animations could use a bit more variety to help make the videos pop a little more. Overall, it’s been a reliable tool for my video projects.

Easy setup, quick start
Getting Camtasia up and running was surprisingly smooth. The installer didn’t take long, and I was able to start recording within about 10 minutes. The onboarding tutorials helped me figure out the basics quickly without feeling overwhelmed. There’s definitely a bit of a learning curve with all the editing options, but the setup itself made it easy to jump in and start experimenting.

Simplified tutorial video editing
I was struggling to create clear tutorial videos that included both screen recordings and webcam footage without spending hours editing. Camtasia made it way easier to sync both types of content and add annotations quickly, which saved me a ton of time on my project. The interface isn’t perfect, but it definitely solved my biggest headache with video editing.

Great recording, editing needs polish
The screen recording feature captures everything clearly and is super easy to use. The video editing tools are good, but sometimes the timeline can feel a bit clunky when working on longer projects.

Great recording, audio needs work
The screen recording feature is exactly what I needed for quick tutorial videos, and the drag-and-drop timeline makes editing really simple. I do wish the audio editing tools were a bit more intuitive though, sometimes it's tricky to get the volume just right.

Great recording and editing
The screen recording feature captures everything smoothly and the timeline editing makes trimming clips quick and easy. I wish the cursor effects were a bit more customizable though.
