Solid for quick tutorials
Camtasia's been surprisingly easy to pick up for my quick tutorial videos. I like how you can just drag and drop clips without much hassle, which saves me a bunch of time. Sometimes it lags a bit with longer projects, but overall it’s solid for the price. Definitely works well for what I need, just wish the export was a tad faster.

Easy and reliable screen recorder
Camtasia’s super easy to pick up and the screen recording is solid. I like how you can quickly trim clips and add annotations without much fuss. Wish it was a bit faster sometimes but overall it’s a great tool for quick videos.

Worth the investment
Camtasia costs a bit upfront, but for the quality of editing and ease of use, it really pays off over time. Definitely worth it if you make videos regularly.

Great for polished videos
I tried both OBS Studio and Snagit before settling on Camtasia, mainly because its editing tools feel way more intuitive for quick adjustments. Snagit's screen capture is solid, but Camtasia’s timeline makes trimming and adding effects much smoother. It’s not the cheapest option, but for the kind of polished videos I need, it’s worth the investment.

Overpriced for basic features
Camtasia feels way overpriced for what you actually get. The features are okay but nothing that justifies the steep one-time cost, especially when there are cheaper or even free alternatives that cover most needs. I expected a better return on my investment considering how basic some tools feel and how clunky the interface can be. Definitely not great value if you’re on a budget or just need something simple.

Worth the cost for ease
Camtasia isn’t the cheapest option out there, but I’ve found it to be worth the cost given how reliable and user-friendly it is. For creating video tutorials and quick edits, it saves me a ton of time, which feels like a solid return on investment. It’s especially great if you don’t have a huge team and need something that just works without a steep learning curve. The only downside is that it feels a bit pricey if you’re only doing basic stuff, but for what I get out of it, it’s a fair trade-off.

Quick and smooth setup
Setup was straightforward and had it running in under 10 minutes. The onboarding tutorials helped me get the hang of the basics without feeling overwhelmed.

Great for team training videos
Our team of six started using Camtasia after our manager pushed for a better way to create training videos. Getting everyone on board was smoother than I expected since the interface is pretty intuitive, and it’s helped us collaborate more effectively on content revisions.

Best for easy editing
Tried OBS Studio and Filmora before settling on Camtasia because the editing tools feel way more intuitive and less clunky. It’s not perfect—sometimes the rendering takes longer than I’d like—but overall it just makes putting together tutorials way easier.

Good recording, audio needs work
The screen recording feature captures video smoothly and has been reliable for my tutorials. However, I found the audio editing tools a bit clunky and frustrating when trying to clean up background noise, which slowed down my workflow more than I expected.
