Good recording, clunky editing
The screen recording feature in Camtasia is really solid and captures everything smoothly, which was exactly what I needed for my tutorials. However, the video editing tools feel a bit clunky and unintuitive at times, especially when trying to do precise cuts or add transitions. I found myself spending more time figuring out how to edit than actually working on the content, which was frustrating. Overall, it gets the job done but could definitely be more user-friendly.

Streamlined Tutorial Editing
I was struggling to create clear tutorial videos with smooth edits, but Camtasia made stitching clips and adding callouts super easy, saving me hours on every project.

Streamlined tutorial editing
I was struggling to create clean, professional-looking tutorials for my remote team without spending hours editing. Camtasia made it way easier to record screen activity and quickly trim out mistakes without losing quality. The timeline editing is straightforward, which saved me loads of time compared to the tools I used before. Overall, it solved my biggest headache by streamlining the whole process, though I wish the export options were a bit faster.

Difficult adoption for team
Our team of 8 was forced to switch to Camtasia by management, but honestly getting everyone comfortable with the interface was a real struggle. A lot of folks found the editing tools confusing and clunky, which slowed down collaboration instead of helping it. We ended up sticking to simpler tools for most projects because of the steep learning curve.

Great recording and annotations
The screen recording feature in Camtasia is exactly what I needed for creating quick tutorial videos—super easy to use and the quality is really sharp. I also like the built-in annotations and callouts, which make it simple to highlight key points without jumping into another program. The only downside I've noticed is that the timeline can get a bit clunky when working with longer videos, but overall it’s been a solid tool for my projects.

Reliable and Improving Over Time
Started using this about 5 years ago, and it's definitely come a long way—still my go-to for quick video edits and tutorials. The interface has gotten smoother, though sometimes it can feel a bit sluggish with bigger projects.

Quick and straightforward setup
Getting started with Camtasia was surprisingly smooth—I had it installed and ready to go in under 15 minutes. The onboarding guides were clear enough to avoid any major confusion, though it took a bit of experimenting to feel fully comfortable with the editing tools. Overall, the setup process didn’t slow me down at all and made jumping into projects much easier than expected.

Difficult to adopt as a team
Our team of 8 was forced to switch to Camtasia by management, but many found it clunky and unintuitive which made collaboration a headache. Getting everyone to actually use it properly was a real struggle, and it slowed down our workflow more than it helped.

Easier tutorial video edits
Was struggling to put together clear tutorial videos with synced audio and screen capture, but Camtasia made it way easier to edit and fix timing without a headache. Took some time to get used to the interface, but once I got it, the exports looked really professional.
