Better than Loom for quick shares

Switched from Loom and also gave Droplr a shot before settling on CloudApp. I liked how CloudApp’s screen recording and screenshot tools felt way more intuitive, plus the quick sharing links saved me a lot of time. The only bummer is sometimes the video upload speeds can lag a bit, but overall it’s been solid for quick feedback loops.

Great for team communication

Our team of about 15 started using CloudApp after our manager pushed for better screen sharing and quick feedback tools. Getting everyone on board was easier than expected, and it’s helped speed up communication, especially when folks are remote.

Streamlined bug reporting big time

Our team was drowning in back-and-forth emails trying to explain bugs and fixes, which was driving everyone nuts. CloudApp made it way easier to just record quick videos and screenshots with annotations — no more guessing what I meant or spending forever typing it out. It saved us a ton of time during product launches, and honestly, communication feels way smoother now. Only gripe is sometimes the app feels a bit slow to start up on my older laptop.

Still my go-to tool

Started using this over 3 years ago and honestly, it just keeps getting better. The updates have made sharing and annotating screenshots way smoother, though sometimes the app lags a bit on older Macs.

Good but with quirks

Tried Loom and Snagit before, but went with CloudApp mainly for its quick GIF creation and easy sharing. It’s decent, though sometimes laggy and the free version feels limited compared to others.

Good features but kinda pricey

CloudApp is decent for quick screen recordings and sharing, but the pricing feels a bit steep if you're not using it heavily. For me, the ROI wasn’t super clear since some features I wanted were locked behind higher tiers. It’s okay value if you really need its simplicity, but kinda expensive otherwise.

Smooth and simple setup

Setup was surprisingly quick and the onboarding guided me through everything without any headaches. Took me maybe 10 minutes to have it fully up and running, though I had to figure out a couple small settings on my own.

Mixed setup experience

Getting started with CloudApp was a bit of a mixed bag. The initial onboarding was straightforward, and I had the tool installed in under 10 minutes, which was nice. However, figuring out some of the more advanced features took a while and wasn’t very intuitive, so there was definitely a learning curve. Overall, setup was okay but not as smooth as I hoped.

Reliable tool that’s gotten better

Started using this around 3 years ago for quick screen captures and sharing at work. Over time, it’s definitely improved with smoother video recording and better integration with other apps I use daily. Sometimes the upload speed can lag a bit, but overall it’s become way more reliable than when I first started. It’s saved me a ton of time explaining stuff to teammates, so definitely worth sticking with.

Useful but not perfect

Our team of about 12 started using CloudApp mainly to share quick video updates and screenshots. Getting everyone on board was a bit slow since some folks found the interface a little confusing at first, especially for annotating images. Collaboration improved a bit once most got used to it, but a few still prefer email or Slack for quick stuff, so it's not fully replaced anything. Overall, it’s helpful but feels a bit clunky when used by less tech-savvy team members.
