Decent but a bit clunky
So, Power BI is alright for what I need, but it can feel kinda clunky sometimes. I like how easy it is to connect to different data sources without much hassle, and the visuals look decent enough once you get them set up. That said, the learning curve wasn't exactly smooth for me, and occasionally it slowed down when handling bigger datasets. Overall, not bad but not mind-blowing either.

Great for Team Reporting
Our team of about 8 people started using Power BI a few months ago to streamline our reporting process. Getting everyone on board was a bit tricky at first since not everyone is super tech-savvy, but regular lunch-and-learns helped a lot. The collaboration features really made it easier for us to share dashboards and keep the data consistent across projects. One annoying thing is sometimes the refresh schedules get wonky and you have to manually update, but overall it’s been a solid addition for us.

Great visuals, occasional slow refresh
The data visualization options in Power BI are exactly what we needed to create clear and engaging reports for our team. I especially like how easy it is to customize charts and dashboards without needing to write complex code. However, the data refresh feature can be a bit slow sometimes, which interrupts the workflow. Overall, it’s a solid tool that makes turning raw data into insights pretty straightforward.

Tamed messy sales reporting
Our team was drowning in scattered Excel reports and it was impossible to get a clear picture of our monthly sales performance. Power BI helped us pull all that data together in one place and create interactive dashboards that update automatically. Now, instead of spending hours every week assembling reports, we can quickly see trends and drill down into details with just a few clicks. It’s made our monthly reviews way smoother and less stressful.

Slipped downhill over time
Started using Power BI about five years ago and at first, it felt pretty promising for basic reporting needs. Over time, though, the tool has become increasingly clunky and unintuitive, with frequent updates that seem more focused on adding flashy features than improving core usability. The performance has noticeably declined, especially when working with larger datasets, which is frustrating given how essential that is. It feels like the product has lost sight of what made it useful in the first place.

Smooth setup overall
Setup was pretty straightforward and I had it running in under an hour. The onboarding materials helped a lot, though there was a slight learning curve figuring out some of the data connections at first.

Great for Team Collaboration
Our team of 8 quickly adapted to Power BI for tracking project metrics, and it’s made cross-department reporting way smoother. Getting everyone on board took a little nudging, but now collaboration feels more natural since all the data lives in one place.

Reliable and Improving Over Time
Started using Power BI about five years ago, and it’s definitely come a long way since then. The interface feels much smoother now, and the new features, especially around data modeling and visualization options, have made a big difference in how I present reports. I appreciate how frequently they update the platform without breaking existing workflows, which isn’t always the case with other tools I’ve tried. Overall, it’s been a solid solution that keeps getting better as they listen to user feedback.

Saved Hours on Reporting
Our team was drowning in scattered sales reports that took hours to compile manually every week. Power BI helped us pull all that data into one interactive dashboard, cutting report prep time down from days to less than an hour. The drill-down features made it way easier to spot trends and outliers without digging through spreadsheets. It’s not perfect—sometimes the data refresh takes longer than I'd like—but overall it solved a huge headache for us.
