Great heatmaps, shaky recordings

Heatmaps give a clear picture of what visitors click on, which really helped us tweak our layout. The session recordings are useful too, but sometimes they lag a bit on slower connections.

Helped fix checkout drop-off

Our website was getting plenty of traffic but people kept dropping off before checkout, which was driving me nuts. Hotjar's heatmaps and session recordings helped me see exactly where users were getting stuck, letting me fix confusing buttons and improve flow. It didn't solve everything, but it definitely cleared up the biggest roadblocks and boosted conversions noticeably.

Quick and smooth setup

Setup was straightforward and I had it running on our site in about 15 minutes. The onboarding guides helped, though some features took a bit of digging to fully understand.

Mixed feelings on Hotjar

Our team of six gave Hotjar a shot mainly for user behavior insights, but getting everyone to actually use the tool was a bit of a struggle. The boss pushed it hard, but some found the interface clunky and the data not always easy to interpret, which slowed collaboration.

Heatmaps nailed it

The heatmaps give a really clear picture of where users are clicking, which helped us tweak our layout. The feedback polls are useful too, but sometimes they feel a bit limited in customization.

Useful but slightly clunky

Started using this about three years ago and have seen some useful improvements over time, especially with their heatmaps and user recordings. That said, the interface has gotten a bit clunky, and sometimes the data feels delayed or incomplete, which can be frustrating when you’re trying to make quick decisions. Overall, it’s helpful but hasn’t quite kept up with more nimble competitors lately.

Decent but a bit slow

Hotjar does what I need most of the time, like tracking user behavior and heatmaps, but sometimes it feels kinda slow and clunky. I’ve had a few issues where the data didn’t update as quickly as I wanted, which was a bit frustrating. The setup was easy enough, but I wish the reporting options were a bit more flexible. Overall, meh, it’s okay I guess for basic stuff.

Worth the investment

The pricing felt a bit steep at first, but once we saw how much insight Hotjar gave us into our users, it quickly paid for itself. For small teams, it’s definitely great value since it combines several tools in one place. Overall, it’s been worth the investment for the improvements we’ve made based on the data.

Used to be better

Started using this tool over four years ago and honestly, it’s been a slow downhill slide. Features that used to be reliable now feel clunky or buggy, and support hasn’t really improved. It’s frustrating because it showed so much promise early on, but lately it just doesn’t keep up with what I need.

Used to be great, now disappointing

Started using this tool about five years ago and it used to be reliable, but lately it feels like they’ve dropped the ball. Features that once worked smoothly are glitchy now, and customer support has gotten almost non-existent. Honestly, the platform feels bloated and less intuitive than before, which is super frustrating after all this time.
