Solid tool that’s improved steadily

Started with Pendo about three years ago, and I’ve noticed real improvements over time, especially in how intuitive the onboarding flows have become. The analytics have gotten deeper and more useful, which helps me understand user behavior better than before. While the interface can still feel a bit clunky at times, it hasn’t stopped me from relying on it daily. Overall, it’s grown into a tool I genuinely trust for product insights.

Smooth setup and onboarding

Getting Pendo up and running was smoother than I expected. The onboarding process walked me through the basics clearly, and I had the core setup done in a few hours without needing to dig too deep into docs. There was a slight learning curve figuring out some of the customization options, but overall, it felt intuitive enough to pick up quickly. Definitely saved time compared to other tools I've tried.

Great onboarding, slow dashboard

The user onboarding guides are exactly what we needed to help new users get up to speed quickly. The analytics dashboard is clear and useful, though sometimes it takes a bit longer to load than I'd like.

Great walkthroughs, clunky analytics

The walkthrough builder in Pendo is exactly what we needed to onboard new users without constant hand-holding. I especially like how easy it is to customize the steps and target specific user segments. That said, the analytics dashboard feels a bit cluttered and could be more intuitive when drilling down into user behavior. Overall, it's a strong tool that has definitely streamlined our user education process.

Mixed feelings on Pendo

Our team of about 12 started using Pendo after management pushed for it. Adoption was slow because not everyone found it intuitive, and collaboration features felt a bit clunky. It’s been helpful for tracking user feedback, but some teammates still prefer other tools.

Good in-app guides, weaker analytics

We initially tried Mixpanel and Amplitude for product analytics, but Pendo caught our eye because of its in-app guidance features. While the onboarding flows were easier to build here compared to the others, I found the reporting less flexible and sometimes a bit confusing to set up. Also, the price felt a bit steep for what we got, especially since some of the advanced features felt clunky or bugged out occasionally. Still, if you're looking for a tool that combines analytics with user messaging, it’s worth considering, just don’t expect it to be perfect.

Good for tracking users

Been messing around with Pendo for a bit, and honestly, it makes tracking user behavior way easier than I thought it'd be. Setting up guides is chill, though sometimes the interface feels a little clunky. Still, it’s helped me get a better grip on what folks actually do in the app.

Worth the investment overall

The pricing is definitely on the higher side, but for what we get, it feels worth it. We saw a pretty solid ROI within a few months, especially from how much time it saved our team tracking user behavior. It might be a bit much for smaller setups, but for mid-sized teams looking for detailed insights, it’s a great value. Just wish the onboarding was a bit smoother to get full use out of it faster.
