Not quite what I expected

Tried Mixpanel and Heap before, but chose Pendo hoping for better onboarding features. Honestly, it felt clunky and less intuitive than the others, and the pricing wasn’t clear. Mixpanel’s analytics felt smoother and Heap’s setup was way easier.

Smooth setup and onboarding

I tried Mixpanel and WalkMe before settling on Pendo, and what stood out was how much easier it was to set up in comparison. The user onboarding flows are straightforward, and the in-app messaging feels less clunky than the others. It’s not perfect—sometimes the analytics take a bit to sync—but overall it felt like a smoother fit for our team’s needs.

Simple and effective tool

Good onboarding, weak reporting

Tried Mixpanel and Heap before, but Pendo’s onboarding tools felt more intuitive for our team. That said, the reporting isn’t as flexible as Mixpanel’s, which was a bit frustrating when digging into user data.

Useful but clunky over time

Started using Pendo about three years ago, and while the product has added useful features over time, it sometimes feels bloated and less intuitive than before. Some updates have improved the analytics, but the interface can still be confusing, making onboarding a bit frustrating. Overall, it’s helpful but hasn’t quite kept pace with other tools I’ve tried.

Clear onboarding with Pendo

Our team was drowning in onboarding confusion—users kept missing key features and support tickets were piling up. Pendo’s in-app guides helped us highlight the most important parts of our app right when users needed them, which drastically cut down our support requests. The analytics also gave us real insight into where users were getting stuck, so we could tweak flows quickly. It’s not perfect, but it solved a big headache for us.

Good features, a bit pricey

The pricing for Pendo feels a bit steep, especially for smaller teams like ours. While it does offer some useful insights, I’m not totally convinced it delivers enough value to justify the cost yet. That said, the ROI can improve once you get fully set up and start using its features regularly, but the initial investment made me hesitate. Smooth and straightforward setup

Getting Pendo up and running was surprisingly smooth. The initial setup took me about an hour, which felt reasonable given the amount of customization I wanted. The onboarding materials were clear and helped me avoid a lot of the confusion I expected with such a powerful tool. There was a bit of a learning curve when it came to advanced features, but overall, I had it tracking user data and launching guides quicker than I thought I would.
