Decent platform, costs add up

BigCommerce definitely covers the basics and offers a solid platform, but I found the pricing a bit steep given what you actually get. The monthly fees add up quickly, especially once you factor in the extra costs for apps and premium features. For smaller stores or those just starting out, it might not be the best bang for your buck. That said, if your business grows, the platform can handle it, so the return on investment is there — just takes some patience and planning.

Solid but could improve

Been with BigCommerce for over 5 years now, and while they’ve definitely improved their interface and features, some things still feel clunky or overly complicated. The platform works fine for basic needs, but I’ve run into limits when trying to customize certain aspects of my store. Customer support has been hit or miss depending on who you get.

Too complicated and pricey

I gave BigCommerce a shot after trying Shopify and WooCommerce, hoping it would be more flexible but honestly it felt way more complicated without clear benefits. The interface was clunky and not very intuitive — I kept getting stuck on simple tasks that Shopify made way easier. Plus, their pricing seemed high for what you actually get, and the support wasn't very helpful when I reached out. If you want something straightforward, Shopify or WooCommerce might save you a lot of headaches.

Decent but a bit tricky

Setup was kinda confusing at first, but once I got going it wasn’t too bad. Wish it was a bit easier to customize without digging into code though.

Decent but clunky for teams

Our team of about eight people started using BigCommerce a few months ago after our manager decided to switch platforms. Getting everyone to adopt it was a bit of a challenge since some preferred the old system and found BigCommerce’s interface a little clunky at first. Collaboration is decent, but the learning curve slowed us down initially, especially when trying to coordinate product updates and inventory across departments. Overall, it works fine for basic store management, but it hasn't quite lived up to everyone's expectations in terms of flexibility.

Helped with inventory syncing

Had trouble syncing inventory across multiple channels until BigCommerce helped streamline it. It made managing stock easier, but the interface can be kinda clunky and sometimes slow to update.

Improved and reliable over time

Started using BigCommerce about 5 years ago and it's definitely gotten smoother and more reliable over time. The interface feels more intuitive now, and they've added some handy features that actually make managing my store easier. Only gripe is that sometimes the support can be a bit slow to respond, but overall it’s been a solid platform for my business.

Flexible and feature-rich platform

Switched from Shopify after feeling boxed in by their design limits, and BigCommerce gave me way more flexibility without needing to dive into code all the time. I also looked at WooCommerce, but the setup was just too technical for what I needed. BigCommerce strikes a nice balance between ease of use and powerful features, especially when handling larger product catalogs.

Decent but has flaws

Been with BigCommerce for about 4 years now, and while they've definitely added some useful features, the platform still feels a bit clunky sometimes, especially with customization. Support has been hit or miss depending on who you get, and I’ve run into some frustrating limitations that slow down my growth. It's solid for basic stores, but kinda struggles with more complex needs.

Steady improvement over time

Started using BigCommerce about five years ago, and I’ve gotta say, it’s come a long way since then. At first, the interface felt a bit clunky and some features were missing, but over time they’ve steadily improved the platform and added useful tools that actually help run my store smoother. The support has been pretty solid too, though sometimes responses can be a bit slow. Overall, it’s been a reliable platform that keeps getting better without too many headaches.
