Mixed Setup Experience

Getting Confluence up and running was kind of a mixed bag for me. The initial setup wasn’t too complicated and I had a basic workspace ready in about an hour, which felt pretty fast. However, the onboarding materials were a bit scattered, and it took some digging to figure out how to customize things the way I wanted. The learning curve was steeper than I expected, especially when trying to integrate with other tools, so it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing from the start.

Solid value for team collaboration

Confluence isn’t the cheapest tool out there, but for the level of organization and collaboration it brings, I find it well worth the cost. Our team’s ability to centralize documents and keep everyone on the same page has definitely saved us time and headaches, so the ROI feels real. For smaller teams, the pricing might seem a bit steep, but if you’re dealing with complex projects, it pays for itself pretty quickly. Overall, it’s a solid investment that keeps workflows smooth.

Editing and Search Needs Work

The page editing feature in Confluence often feels clunky and laggy, which really slows down the workflow. I also found the search function to be unreliable—important documents sometimes just don't show up, making it frustrating to find what I need quickly. On the plus side, the template options are decent and helped me get started on projects faster. Overall, it feels like the tool has potential but the basic usability needs a lot of improvement.

Solid choice for team docs

I switched to Confluence after trying Notion and SharePoint for team collaboration, and honestly, Confluence just fits better with how our group works. Notion was cool for flexible notes but felt a bit scattered when it came to organizing large projects, and SharePoint was just way too clunky and slow for quick edits. Confluence’s integration with Jira and its page hierarchy system really helped keep everything tidy and easy to find, although sometimes the editor can be a little buggy when loading large pages. Overall, it’s been a solid choice for keeping documentation and discussions in one spot without too much hassle.

Smooth Setup and Onboarding

Getting Confluence up and running was straightforward, and the onboarding materials really helped flatten the learning curve. It took me about a day to feel comfortable navigating and setting things up the way I wanted.

Saved Our Project Documentation

Our team was drowning in scattered notes and constant back-and-forth emails trying to keep project documentation up to date. Confluence helped centralize everything in one place where anyone on the team can edit or comment, which cut down on confusion and saved us a ton of time. I especially appreciated the page version history, which made it easy to track changes without losing important info. It’s not perfect—sometimes the interface feels a bit clunky—but overall it made managing our knowledge way smoother.

Too complicated and slow

Honestly, Confluence felt way more complicated than it needed to be. Took forever to find what I wanted, and the whole thing just felt clunky and slow. Definitely not what I expected for how popular it is.

Solid collaboration tool with growth

Started using Confluence about five years ago, and it has definitely improved in useful ways since then. The interface feels smoother now, and the search function has gotten a lot more reliable, which makes finding old documents way less frustrating. Collaboration features have also stepped up, making it easier for the whole team to stay on the same page. That said, sometimes it still feels a bit clunky when handling really large spaces or complex page hierarchies.

Decent but a bit clunky

Confluence does what I need for team docs and stuff, but sometimes it feels kinda clunky and slow. I like how easy it is to organize pages, but editing can be a bit frustrating when you just wanna move things around quickly. Also, the search isn’t always great at finding what I want, which can be annoying. Overall, meh, it’s okay but not mind-blowing or anything.

Solid tool that’s improved

Started using this about five years ago and it’s definitely improved—faster loading and better integration with other tools have made a real difference for our team.
