Heatmaps good, recordings laggy
The heatmaps really helped me see where users were clicking, but the session recordings sometimes lag and made it hard to follow user behavior smoothly.

Heatmaps and recordings shine
The heatmaps in Hotjar are exactly what we needed to understand where users are spending most of their time on our site. It’s really straightforward to set up and gives clear visual feedback without any hassle. I also like the session recordings because they help catch unexpected user behavior, though sometimes they can be a bit slow to load. Overall, these tools together have been super helpful in improving our user experience.

Worth the investment overall
Hotjar’s pricing felt a bit steep at first, especially for a small team like ours, but the insights we got made it kinda worth it. The heatmaps and session recordings helped us spot issues we wouldn’t have caught otherwise, which definitely boosted our conversion rates. I do wish the lower-tier plans offered a bit more data, since we sometimes hit limits quickly. Overall, it feels like a solid investment if you want to dig deeper into user behavior without spending a fortune on more complex tools.

Helps spot site issues
Hotjar’s been super useful for figuring out where people get stuck on my site. The heatmaps are pretty clear and helped me tweak a few things that were confusing visitors. The only thing is sometimes the page load slows down a bit, but nothing too annoying. Overall, works how I expected and saved me some headaches.

Best balance of features and ease
Tried Crazy Egg and FullStory before settling on Hotjar because it gave me clearer heatmaps without a huge learning curve. The setup was straightforward and I liked how easy it is to segment user sessions, though sometimes the dashboard feels a bit cluttered. Overall, it hit the sweet spot for what I needed without overwhelming me with features I didn’t use.

Useful but somewhat clunky over time
Started with Hotjar about three years ago, and while the heatmaps and session recordings have improved, some features still feel clunky and slow to load. The interface has had a few redesigns, which sometimes made it harder to find things I used to rely on quickly. It’s decent for basic user behavior insights, but I’ve found better alternatives for more detailed analytics. Overall, it’s useful but feels like it hasn’t fully kept up with my growing needs.

Consistently improving tool
After using Hotjar for over three years, I've definitely seen it improve in useful ways. The heatmaps and session recordings have become more reliable and easier to navigate, which makes analyzing user behavior less of a headache. I appreciate how the team keeps adding features without making the interface feel cluttered. There’s still occasional lag when loading larger data sets, but overall it’s been a solid tool for understanding site visitors.

Useful but feels sluggish
Started using this about 4 years ago and while the tool has added features, some core functions feel slower or clunkier than before. It’s helpful for basic heatmaps but sometimes feels like the updates focus more on polishing than fixing major issues.
